I wasn’t sure about these muzzle breaks because I had not used one of mcarbo’s in the past. Let me assure you these are of the highest quality and most effective muzzle breaks that I have ever used.

It looks and feels great.

Although the PC carbine is not a hard recoiling rifle, the muzzle brake reduces it further. A great help on follow up shots and contributing to an over-all improvement in accuracy. Now, using the PC is almost like shooting a 22 making it a really fun and handy "big bore" plinker. I like that this brake uses a jam nut rather than an O ring or crush washer. And, it looks good.

At present, a five star rating. Ordered at the end of the day on a Friday and received in the mail on Wednesday. Installed easily and without effort, watched the installation video a few times proir to purchasing.

As soon as the all clear siren sounds and I can get to the range I will see the results.

Love my muzzle break

A muzzle break for a 9mm? Really? Yep.

Two reason:

First - simply cuz it looks cool and who doesn’t want to look cool.

Second, the indoor range I go to is only 25 yards deep. I typically get the stereotypical green, torso/head qualifying target. Onto that, I put some 3” nice bright red targets. I loaded up and fired without any warm-up shots. Right out of the gate, I put the entire magazine into that 3” target at 25 yards without any supports. It wound up being a 2” grouping which is pretty cool for this shaky old man. I don’t typically get all the rounds into the 3”. Being able to get back on target quicker helped.

My only issue was finding the newer muzzle break installation video. Seeing a “lock washer” in the old video and having a crush washer three me off Find the new video and you’ll do great.

Love the Mini Break

I didn’t see anyone write about the mini break and I wasn’t sure about ordering it over the “standard” (longer) break. Then I test fired my buddy’s PCC with the standard size break and knew immediately that I’d prefer the mini instead. With the Ruger M-LOK model PCC, I’m glad now that I installed the mini, as it just looks better cosmetically. Let’s face it, breaks on a 9mm pistol caliber carbine don’t really do much as far as felt recoil, but they sure look nice and add some overall “balance” to the eye. The difference in felt recoil with or without the break albeit ever so noticeably slight, but really it’s minuscule at best. Second, I did NOT use Rocksett on the muzzle threads. That stuff is like using JB weld and if you ever try to remove it with the company’s “boiling water” process, your threads will NEVER be the same. I’ve used it before but never again on firearms. Personally I just carry a small Gun Smith’s torque wrench in my range bag and would adjust the inch/lbs. with that IF necessary. So far, it hasn't been necessary. Also, I did NOT torque the mini break down as tight as the MCARBO video suggests because, I don’t want that break to be relatively “permanent” on my rifle. I want it to be easier to remove if need be and carrying a vise around with me to the range, just won’t fly. The crush washer and break could be tightened another 360*, but I chose against that option. After all, my PCC is strictly a camping rifle and occasional range toy, and it’s NOT being dependent on as a daily defensive “duty” rifle. So that’s why I felt that the mini break didn’t need to be torqued down so tightly. So far, it’s working just fine and hasn’t move at all. I’m happy I got the mini!

Looked at several muzzle brakes but the M*Carbo got very good reviews. Install was easy but not having a gun vise I had to resort to my local gunsmith! It still was easy!

The muzzle bake reduced some recoil but did the best at keeping muzzle rise to a minimum.

Makes that 2nd, 3rd... shot better

Definitely functions as described and helped keep me level for the next shot.

The MCarbo install videos made it a cinch to install and there was a lot of valuable info there, especially about the tuning.

My only regret was not getting the hi-temp locking agent at the same time.
