Look, the 442 J-frame is a beautiful CC revolver, but with an Achilles heel; 10+ pound trigger pull (some find +=12 to 14#...ugh!). My wife needed LH index finger overlapping RH index finger to pull it anywhere close to steady. This fixed that issue for her...and, I can shoot it more accurately as well! But, do yourself a favor, add the little MCARBO bench block to your order, gather your other tools and spread them out in front of you and watch the video carefully, stop and replay as needed. It makes the process safe, easy, un-scary AND QUICK. Without the excellent video and proper tools...it is a potential nightmare, i.e, visualize hands and knees looking for spring in a haystack :-) A wonderful product offering 6-lb pull, reliable hammer/pin function and maximum accuracy. Buy this one!!!
Trigger feels much better and smoother. Had a heck of time gettin the long spring back on. A small tool to hold the spring cap and allow two fingers to compress the spring would be helpful. Just a piece of plastic with the right size hole
Really great kit. I've never done anything more than clean and change the grips. MCARBO's video and kit took me through it—one shot. Really quite fun! The gun fires much more smoothly. Thanks gentlemen!
I ordered one of these kits for my air weight and loved the new pull. I took it to my grandmother who is a retired detective in her 80’s with bad hands I asked her to try it out. It put a smile on her face that she was able to pull the trigger so she wanted me to order one for her model 60. Very easy to swap out instruction video was very informative.
Bought a S&W 442 for it's lighter weight and smaller profile for Florida summer carry. Love this trigger upgrade! Feels as if it cut trigger-pull in half. Lighter trigger has resulted in tighter groups and faster follow up shots. Super fast shipping and easy installation.
I've been struggling with my Smith & Wesson airweight regarding the heavy trigger pull since I brought it. after installing the spring kit, my draw, fire time and accuracy has become much better. Thanks.
Well-made product and shipped quickly. I couldn't have replaced the parts without the great video. The trigger pulls in both my revolvers were decreased, which immediately increased my accuracy. One thing: make sure that paper clip is firmly in that hole or you will be searching for the spring and the little black doodad!
Installed this kit in my Model 624. Took all of 20 minutes. Very easy to install. Did not improve trigger pull. 10 lbs with factory springs and same with Mcarbo kit. Not worth the money or effort to change out
Pre-install trigger pull: 11 lbs Post-install trigger pull: 10.25 lbs And I had to reuse the stock trigger return spring to achieve that result and polish all contact surfaces. The MCARBO trigger return spring actually RAISED the trigger pull. Hardly the advertised 40% trigger pull reduction. Not what I've come to expect from MCARBO.
So I have an Airweight J Frame .38 Model 642-2. I ordered this kit as the trigger was very heavy and identical to the one in my girlfriends Airweigh J Frame Model 442. Kit came, Great packaging, Install was a snap. But there is ZERO change in the trigger. in fact it is identical to the 442. I even went back and checked to see if I ordered the wrong part as it couldve been a stock replacment. but no, I ordered this kit with kit parts for another pistol. Im a little disappointed in this one. I will be verifying my results with my gunsmith this week as for actual trigger pull measurement vs by the hand feel.
Only hammer spring worked wanted me to mail all of it back to get a refund instead of just sending a new trigger return spring. Overall disappointed and can’t recommend
Just finished installing the MCARBO s&w j frame spring upgrade kit. Great improvement!! I would not have tried the installation myself but after watching your outstanding instruction video I jumped right in and had it done in 20 minutes. Great job MCARBO, good on you!

My S&W model 36 was malfunctioning with the trigger getting stuck on return/reset after firing. Trigger squeeze was difficult with the stock spring at 8+ lbs pull. I attempted to fix it using stock springs but was unable to find the trigger return spring from any vendor and could only partially repair it. Its a beautiful gun but the malfunctioning action made me want to sell it. I stumbled on the MCarbo site and found a complete solution for an affordable price! I ordered it and received multiple emails with updated shipping status and received my whole order quickly (3 days). The video tutorial on the MCarbo site made the replacement simple and easy. The new springs have revitalized a gun that was uncomfortable and unreliable and it is now functioning as new. Trigger tension is much easier as advertised. Installation isn't the easiest. Shipment took about a week, but I guess covid has slowed things down.
