Review
These springs were delivered exactly when I was told they would be and the installation video provided by M*Carbo on YouTube was spot on and very helpful. The quality is very good and although I haven't shot the pistol since I changed out the springs, I'm not expecting any problems. The spring swap went smoothly and just like the YouTube video -except- for replacing the side plate. It seemed to be rocking on something just above the trigger and right behind the wheel. I fussed a little and it finally set in place; I replaced the grips and now I'm ready to hit the range. This was on my S&W 637 Airweight. They claim trigger pull reduction was about a 40% for double-action but I believe that was on a model 642. Mine was still acceptable at: Single Action - 40% Pre-swap - 3.5# Post-swap - 2+# Double Action - 20% Pre-swap - 12.5# Post-swap - 10# All in all, I am happy with this whole experience. Thanks M*Carbo.
Excellent product! No hassle replacement in about 7 minutes and lightened up the trigger pull immensely. Even came with a sticker!
This kit worked well and did everything I was hoping for. The video was outstanding, follow the directions, use the right tool for the job and it was simple. Thanks for a great product, great price and most of all great service. I will be doing a trigger job on my M&P Shield next!
I came upon this website Mcarbo buy accident, and I'm glad I did. I was in the market to modify my Jframe 442 with a trigger kit. I purchased the trigger kit, it was great quality, installed in minutes and was significantly a big improvement over the stock springs. One more thing the customer service with this company is OUTSTANADING!!
Have two J Frame S&Ws, and swapped out the Hammer Springs. Need to get a tool to swap the Trigger Return Springs, but already seen a better DA trigger pull. In SA, the difference is even more noticeable. Please note that a Roll Pin Punch (with a centering dimple) doesn't work if you try to use it to swap the Trigger Return Spring.
I just installed the spring kit in my model 37. The double went from 12 to 9 lbs. The single action went from 3 to around 2 lbs. Very happy with this kit.
Didn’t work for me. Trigger wouldn’t reset.
This spring kit was very easy to install and brought the pull from ten lbs to 6 lbs. I recommend this kit very highly. David
First of all- I love MCARBO(see my review of SUB2000 Trigger Job Bundle). My Smith 642 had a stock trigger weight of slightly over 10 lbs. After I put the MCARBO springs in I got slightly over 9 lbs. I was hoping to get the 6 lbs + or - 1 lb but didn't.
As usual , great service. Parts work as described and arrived fast . Will always recommend these folks!!
Exactly what wanted. Perfect fit much smoother pull.
Fast delivery service. The difference two little springs make. My wife has small hands and by replacing these springs she now enjoys shooting her S & W Model 442 much more than before. Thanks for the great service M*Carbo. Fine quality as well.
Swapped out springs in my j frame smith, world of difference, lighter, smoother!!
Received my kit promptly, which I appreciate. Very happy with the spring kit. Makes the gun much easier to shoot. Fantastic installation video for not being a gunsmith. Tx
Very nice people. Good service! Springs worked great for my wife’s S&W 38 Special.
I just bought and installed the trigger spring kit on a model 637 J Frame.. The double action trigger pull is a little lighter. Before the installation, the trigger pull was 10 1/2 - 11 lb. After the installation, it is a consistent and very smooth 8 1/2 lb. I didn't measure the single action before installation, but after installation, it breaks at just under 2 lb. Overall, I'm happy with the result. A 8 1/2 lb. trigger is plenty light for me in a carry gun. The instructional video made the installation very easy.
