I first screwed in the shield on the left side of the receiver,. Then used a heat gun to soften it up and bend it over and screw in the other side,and shape the deflector. Took about two minutes

I haven't had a chance to see how it works yet. A bit challenging to get formed before it cools down. It should be shipped out pre-formed. It would save the customer a lot of time.
Rifle was failing to eject spent cartridge. called and talked to tech, sorry don't remember his name, sent pictures of deflector, he surmised that somehow it got deformed, maybe in storage. He explained how to correct it or watch video. bought new deflector just in case. Have not been able to test fire it yet but text was VERY HELPFLL in explaining things. Reformed the ejector. Botton line, M-Carbo has ALWAYS BEEN HELPFUL with any and all questions I have ever had. All companies should run their business this way. THANKS THANKS THANKS
I have a grip fin to comply with california rules -- I used this part, or a part of this part, to build up support for the shooting hand thumb behind the ejection port and keep thumb from getting hit by brass or gas. used the oven and some shears to create an extention to the ridge along the ejection point to put my thumb on. Glued it on. so far so good.
It’s not the cleanest looking fix in the world but follow the instructional video and fit it as tight as you can to the gun it looks ok. But for $20 it fixes the problem for left handed shooters.
I shoot left handed. Before this deflector, my face and right bicep were dirty with carbon and shell casing imprints. This deflector has solved that issue and made shooting this gun more enjoyable. This deflector doesn't get in the way when folding. I'll probably use a heat gun to mold it better.
