Another win from mcarbo.
The sight picture was dramatically improved with the addition of the notched rear sight. Quick acquisition, better cheek weld, I highly recommend this addition prior to adding a red dot. You may not even need a red dot.
I finally sat down to install the notched rear sight. While the install video was playing, I completed the installation. The only issue was I tended to over tighten the side bolt and made it hard to manually fold down the sight. Using the combination of the CLP and loosening the bolt in small degrees, I was able to get it to a manageable tension and still allow for the auto fold and deploy of the rear sight. I really like the notch sight in that I can quickly acquire the front sight as compared to using the SK2000 peep sight.
Install was easy and quick. Quality is definitely better than the plastic stock sight - I don't have to worry about it breaking if it is bumped against something. The front sight post needs to be just a bit higher than the bottom of the 'notch' so you can see your target. Once I raised the front sight post, and practiced a little, the accuracy was great. It is slightly higher than the original, for better position of my cheek against the 'stock', and I'm very happy with the result. I would buy this again!

Oh ya!! Loving the new sight, Went with the Notched Sight my Brother’s & Sister’s !!! Installed no problem’s , trying to catch up with the rest of al you sub2k owners, maybe one or two more accessories, Thank you Mcarbo, really enjoying my Sub2k.

Between my rather pronounced cheek bones and progressive multi-focal eyeglasses, I could not get my eye down far enough to use the sights on my little carbine. I seriously considered selling the firearm. As a last resort, I bought and installed the MCarbo notch rear sight. Install was easy - just followed the video Chris made. What a difference! It is now so much fun to shoot. I plan to get the full trigger kit out of the next police pension fund check. I love this gun!
I thought the chintzy plastic sight that came with the Sub-2000 was fine, but my more diminutively-framed partner wasn't able to sight properly through it. This upgrade not only allowed her the capability to sight properly but widened my own target acquisition. It's a small upgrade that reaps big rewards.
I went with open notched sight, order was shipped quickly, easy to install. Makes a big difference on the range!!!! Looking forward to getting more upgrades! Five star from me👍
This is a must have not knocking Kel Tec at all but the factory rear sight is plastic and I got the notched sight and it is awesome rapid deployment can put it down when I want and it's a bit taller and makes my sub 2000 much more comfortable and fun to shoot.
The new notch sight is a blessing! Being a large fellow, with limited mobility in my neck due to a fusion, I could not use the factory sight. This new sight is just right! THANK YOU!
I opted for the notched rear sight, having never been a real fan of the peep (and the OE left a lot to be desired). The installation was very smooth. Sighting in, to adapt to the higher than OE rear sight, was a bit of a challenge. I had to adjust elevation by nearly a foot (at 25 yds.) to get dead center, aided by reducing the picture of the blade in the notch to "just barely" rising above the bottom of the notch. I got used to this quickly when firing, and appreciate the wider overall sight picture it provided. Having a rear sight that folds down is also a big plus.
Easy installation if you follow the video instructions. Well made product. Significant upgrade over factory sight.
