I have made these before, but this was much easier and priced for what it is. If it breaks (and it didn't) it was there when I needed it and it isn't price prohibitive to own.
Bought this after seeing it used in the Sig P365 Trigger installation video. It was smaller then I expected but worked as it was suppose to. It made removing and reinstalling the spring effortless. At this price point, there is no reason not to add it on to your order.
Ordered two. Great for working with springs and c clips.
Good tools are like potato chips and firearms...You can't have just one
This little tool makes working with springs or moving other parts in tight places so much easier and faster making the job quick and easy
This little guy saved my rear on many things involvrd with the lowers upgrade kit. Good to have.
Bought this on a whim as it was cheap and a novelty. It worked great getting springs back into position. Well worth a couple bucks!
I used this in conjunction with the Taurus G2 kit. This tool is a simple enough tool but I have one major complaint. The tool is magnetized and I don't think it should be. As I attempted to use it to put in a seer spring I considered the benefits of having it magnetized but ultimately didn't like it. The seer spring is hard to place inside the pistol assembly, so having it hang off the tool to put it in tight quarters was handy. The problem is when you want to compress the spring, the magnetism messes with the spring placement so as to make capturing the spring in the right way impossible. In the M-Carbo instructional video, you actually see the gunsmith struggle with that too, but then the video is edited so you don't see the fiddling that needs to be done. I ended up using some tweezers.
A must have tool!!
This Gunsmith Shank Installation Tool works as advertised. It is high quality tool in every respect.
Glad I made this purchase. Came in handy!
Great item you can always use.
I ordered this tool while selecting parts for my Gen2 KelTec Sub2000. It wasn't for the purpose of working on that gun. It was because I had installed a short reset trigger in one of my Sig pistols two weeks prior and at that time I would have very much been helped to have a tool like this to reinstall the torsion spring for the hammer. I haven't used it yet but it appears it will do the trick when needed.
I was buying unrelated MCARBO stuff and have been struggling with springs on different firearms. this was cheap enoI threw it in the cart, but didn't know how to use it. I found a Youtube video "KEL TEC PMR 30 Stainless Steel Feed Ramp and Mag Release - KEL TEC PMR 30 Upgrades by M*CARBO!".... about 34 min in it shows a very similar tool. I was then enlightened!
I'm back buying a couple more for my range bag.
-1 Star, I think there should be a video explaining use of this tool.
Gets the job done with ease and much less looking for escaping springs.
