A friend told me about MCarbo and this product after the stock plastic one on my PCC broke. Shipping was quick and installation was easy. It should last forever!
I would like to start with the fact the MCarbo Team lives up to their pledge. They not only delivered in a timely manner they kept giving updates on the shipment. As for the Ruger PC Carbine Stainless Steel Recoil Spring Retainer it functioned as described. I want to try this due to striping my gun for cleaning It was clear the plastic one would fail. I think this would be a must have if you strip your gun for cleaning. I look forward to years of carefree shooting. Great products, Great company.
Just installed the Retainer along with all the other internal upgrades. Great replacement for the stock retainer. Super easy to install watching the excellent video by M*Carbo. Just wish they hadn’t discontinued the recoil spring for my PC Carbine. Would have completed the upgrades!
I’m writing one singular review for all of the internal upgrade parts I got, as it doesn’t really matter which is which. I upgraded to enhance the reliability of my personal favorite firearm, and altogether these parts did not disappoint. They really turn an already low recoil firearm into basically stable no matter the rate of fire. I’ve not had a single issue since replacing the factory parts. Good stuff.
Kinda pricey but much better than the factory part. Go ahead & get the bolt head, extractor pin set also, bet your factory pins are chewed up like mine after a few hundred rounds.
This is a no brainer. Replace cheap plastic with metal, part will never break

With the notion that “there’s always something”, I have completed the M*Carbo parts upgrade with the Ruger PC Carbine Stainless Steel Recoil Spring Retainer. All parts are easy to install, and this piece was really super easy to install! The all in one kit wasn’t available when I ordered the recoil spring, and then the buffer too. This retainer is a must have, to replace the plastic one from the factory, which was already showing signs of wear. M*Carbo hits it out of the park within simple little retainer.
It’s a nice replacement of the original, easy to install. Buy with confidence.
Hey! We asked for it and we got it! My OEM piece was starting to shed small slivers from the edges which is where I would expect the wear to begin. I'm pretty certain this one won't do that! 😂 Thanks for hearing our requests!
I shoot my Ruger PC9 a lot. I want all of my handguns and rifles to be as durable and reliable as possible. Would the little plastic part last for thousands of rounds? Maybe, Ruger makes good stuff. But will this nice little stainless steel spring retainer last forever? Yup. No questions asked. This now completes my upgrades from M*CARBO. I've installed all of their PC9 upgrades and I'm confident I have a rock solid little workhorse for way into the future. It was not the first part I upgraded on my PC9 (extractor, pins and trigger are a need-to-do IMO) from M*CARBO, but I'm glad I did. I like the confidence of extreme quality parts.
I lost the factory retainer and wasn’t thrilled about paying for another plastic one. I found this with a quick google search. The part arrived 2 days earlier than anticipated and got perfect.

When you closely examine the OEM plastic retainer, it becomes quite clear that a metal replacement is mandatory. This part assures me that I will not be left in the sticks with a broken plastic part that has rendered my weapon useless. Another home run!
This stainless steel beauty is the common sense compliment to the shock buffer replacement. Shouldn't do one without the other, and both make a huge difference in overall shock buffer performance.
