I am glad someone addressed this much needed improvement to the 92/M9. The plastic guide remains the most glaring flaw in my opinion. Although this upgrade doesn't change the performance, it's good to know my favorite handgun will last mush longer because of it.
Great upgrade that is more dependable than the factory plastic one.
After a month, I still haven't received my order. The USPS tracking status hasn't changed for over 3 weeks now, so I don't know how it was sent. I would assume it could be sent in a small, padded envelope, but who knows? (I don't think I'll ever find out). I'm not worried about the cost, because it's such an inexpensive part. I'm just really annoyed at not receiving it.
Bought the ss guide rod in reaction to the recent sale email. Have 92FS for past 3 years and shot about 2,400 rounds, mostly punching paper. Admittedly not hard usage. OEM plastic guide rod never presented any issues but 'metal is better'. M*CARBO stainless rod is well machined and fit gun perfectly. That they used 316 stainless is a bonus. This weekend ran another 200 rnds at paper. No issues and no noticeable improvement to gun operation. Cleaning the ss rod much easier than the fluted plastic from Beretta. M*CARBO innovates and makes great products.
Receive the steel guide rod super fast, and in perfect condition. Replacement was easy, and I love the weight. Took my 92x to the range and the new guide rod performed flawlessly. Excellent product. Excellent service! Thank you!
Great update to a plastic part. And what a great price. Just do it
Once again Mcarbo gone and done it! Y’all made me a repeat customer 🤗🤗🤗! Best up grades money can buy. If it’s not working it’s because you didn’t buy your parts from Mcarbo😉! MCarbo should have there own branded rifle/pistol with all Mcarbo custom parts by now?
I bought this piece for my early 80's model 92. It has thousands of round through it with no problems..however, I did notice the end had a slight wobble even though the pin is still right. I saw this one piece stainless steel guide rod in the blem bin for 25% off and took a chance. So..expecting the worse..when I received it...I was shocked. The part could have been installed in the pistol as it was. On the small end there was a small scratch...probably from a chip during the machining process. Some lite polishing with 1200 grit and a little crocus cloth to smooth it up was all it took. Smooth as butter and super quiet. I'm very pleased with this piece.
Outstanding fit and finish. Shame on Beretta for not including a metal guide rod in the M9A3, but BZ to MCARBO for a great product at a great price!
Perfect fit and function. The high polish adds interesting contrast to the matte slide, and matches the high polish medallions in the grip panels. The slight added weight, over the plastic factory supplied guide, adds weight exactly where desired for better recoil control! In theory, the slightly increased mass should aid an already reliable weapon, and the piece of mind that a plastic part won't fail is the best feature.
There isn't much to say about a guide rod as long as it is a quality piece. This item is just that; the machining is clean and smooth, dimensions match the original plastic part and it works well.
Awesome upgrade from the plastic rod. Easy to install and a must have for all 92FS owners.
I used this steel guide rod made for Beretta 92 series pistols in my Taurus PT92 and it fit/works flawlessly.
Looks sharp, fits perfect and won't break the bank. Seriously, this should be OEM. Unless you're running around in the sandbox...
No rough edges, very smooth and nicely weighted drop in piece. You can have more confidence in your M9 once that cheap plastic rod is removed.
Even though there was some question as to fit & function in the Beretta M96A1 (40 S&W) version, I went ahead and replaced the double spring contained guide rod assembly in my pistol. I shot 50 rounds of 165 grain ammo as a test and everything worked properly. I upgraded the pistol with a M*Carbo trigger spring kit as well. As usual YMMV but the SS Guide rod worked in my pistol. Thanks
