Worked just as advertised on YouTube--reduced trigger pull by about 1/2
I ordered the spring and then followed the video. Many important tips in the video particularly when replacing the sear spring. Also, how to prevent pins from falling out after you have installed them. The spring reduced the pull, but I don't have a way to measure this so in comparison to other handguns, it is still a little heavier, but improved over the original. Didn't reduce the long pull that SW designed into the pistol, but they didn't claim that it would. Great shipping performance on their part.
This was a really nice trigger spring kit and easy to install; and that's only because you produce easy to understand and detailed install videos, which no body I know does that. That says a lot about how much you appreciate your customers. I have ordered five times from MCARBO and they ship out quickly. Wanted to ease the pull on my trigger. This spring did the trick. Easy to install.
It definitely reduced the trigger pull. It’ll never be a high quality smooth trigger, but it’s much better. The small pin that’s included to hold the spring in place is entirely too small and I struggled with huge hands. I used a wooden q-tip, broke it off, and it was the perfect size. Great product.
Quality product was well packaged and arrived quickly. Fairly easy installation with help of great video on YouTube. Reduced ridiculous 14lb trigger pull to manageable 8lb. Now I want to shoot this gun more! Great job to everyone at mcarbo! My new parts store!
First, I ordered the wrong part. My fault. Didn't realize it until I began to install and luckily I hadn't opened the package (but probably wouldn't have mattered). I emailed MCarbo and told them that I'd pay for return shipping since my fault. Reply from them came within 10 minutes, WITH a return shipping label! Within another 10 minutes, I received an email saying my replacement part had BEEN SHIPPED! THAT'S CUSTOMER SERVICE FOLKS. Received the new spring for my SW9VE, installed it and now my wife loves her pistol even more. Oh, by the way, MCarbo also refunded the difference between the original kit and the new kit. I will purchase EVERYTHING I can from these folks from now on.
Very pleased with this spring kit. I don’t have a trigger pull gauge but it is definitely noticeably different.
Overall, I think this is a great upgrade over the factory spring. The trigger definitely requires a lot less pressure to fire now. I wish it had also corrected the "rough" feedback I get when pulling the trigger, but as I understand that's due to a different spring. Maybe a new multi-spring kit could be added for that. However, the "assembly tool" needs some work. First, it was too long when I tried to slide the reassembled mechanism into the plastic housing. I attempted to trim it and ended up with it way too short. Taking advice from other reviews, I grabbed a toothpick, cut it down and that seemed to work a lot better. The other issue with the tool is that it's pretty thin and didn't really "hold" well on it's on, whereas a toothpick has a slightly larger diameter and allowed things to stay snug while putting it all back together. Definitely room for improvement here.
A couple months ago I installed the kit for my SW9VE. It was easy to install using the video. Took it to the range and put 100 rounds thru it. Trigger much easier to pull, didn’t skip a beat. I purchased the trigger spring kit for my Ruger LC9 last week. I just installed it also using the video. I haven’t been to the range yet but anticipate it doing great as well.
Got my kit pretty quick but unfortunately one of the springs was busted. I sent a picture of the spring and they quickly sent me a replacement. I love that they provided great customer service. Now that the kit is installed, I can feel a major improvement. I would definitely recommend this product and company. I will definitely be ordering again from them. Thanks!

I’m pretty happy with everything about this, with the exception of the tiny undersized pin to hold the spring in place. There was too much play in it and I had troubles lining both sides up evenly to get retaining pin through. I have huge hands and this pin was way too undersized. I used a wooden q-tip, snapped it off, and it was perfect. One thing to keep in mind….S&W produced this firearm on the cheap side. This kit will reduce the trigger pull by half, but it will NOT give you a high quality trigger. It is still a cheaply manufactured trigger assembly. That being said, I’m still impressed with this firearm.
Purchased a trigger spring kit for my SW40VE. Shipping was quick and installation video made it easy to put on. It had a nice assembly dowel to help hold torsion spring in place during reassembly. Easy trigger-pull reduction for my gun...will order from MCARBO again!
Very easy to install. I’ve never had my gun apart, other than field stripping. It only took about half an hour to install. Performance after install is AMAZING.
