Ruger mini14 sear spring
I did polish the trigger surfaces before installing the sear spring. The polishing reduced the trigger pull from 6.5 lbs to 5.5 lbs and then the spring install brought it down to 4.375 lbs. I'm happy with the trigger pull weight at this point and the polishing gave me a very smooth trigger with a crisp break.

With a little polish work and the Mcarbo spring the trigger pull on my Mini 30 went from 6 pounds to 4&1/2 pounds.
Trigger tuning
This small relatively inexpensive quality item provides a slightly lighter trigger. Coupled with a slight polishing of the sear and trigger interfaces in the trigger group results in not only a slightly lighter pull, the feel of the trigger press is smoother. Installation is relatively simple and the MCarbo installation video is informative and easy to follow for anyone with concerns about undertaking the installation.

Improved trigger squeeze
I installed the spring and it lightened the trigger squeeze significantly. My only issue was that the squeeze was still gritty. I then applied fine valve grinding compound on the sear/hammer interface and safely dry fired the trigger group about 125 times. I then disassembled , cleaned and lubed the trigger group and had a very nice trigger.

Very happy with this kit. Trigger pull reduced by over two pounds on my pull gauge. All that horrible creep is gone. Straight forward installation. Just be sure to have correct tools. It’s easy and it works just like M Carbo promised.

Easy to install. After polishing up sear/trigger areas and then installing mcarbo spring, I ended up with a 3 1/2 # pull. Great spring for the $. My brother bought another brand for his and wasn't happy. I ordered him one of these and he was very pleased. We both have 580 series mini 14's.
I have a newer mini 14. My pull weight settled in at 4-4.5 lbs. Will the new spring reduce the pull more? Thanks Allen.
