Was it worth it? YES!!! Love chris and the m-carbo team. These upgrades transformed my pmr into a .22wmr wood chipper.. if you still have ocassional FTE then consider a slight enlarging (1000 grit) of the chamber.. no more stuck cartridges due to bulging. 300 rounds later.. not one issue.. HELLO... "Hot Brass Down The Shirt!!"
Bought the second upgrade kit for my wife's PMR30. Install much easier than number one.....go slow and easy. Put a 100 rounds through it with no FTF's or any other issues. My Kel Tech PMR-30 did not really have any problems but I wanted it to be more reliable shooting any ammo available for the 22 magnum from 30 grain to 50 grain. I often can get the 30 grain ammo at a reduced price because folks want a heavier bullet for more punch at impact. And with the Biden ammo shortage, there is still a lot of 22 magnum ammo available. Order got to me in 3 days from Florida to Ohio. Follow the videos on the U Tube for installation of all the parts. Installation of the stainless feed ramp is a bit of a job. Getting that spring into the little hole even with the tool was maddening. I bent that spring so I used the original spring from the plastic ramp. I ended up putting the end of the spring in the hole first and then pushing the ramp into position. The return springs were fairly easy to install. Put the assembly in a vice, push the original springs down and then put a small vice grip on the rod holding the springs away from the end of the bar. Bend the little wire and the springs come right off. Easy install after that. The aluminum trigger is awesome. Easy to install. Love the adjustability of it and the feel. I have found that installing the new improved magazine release is better done after the gun is put back together. YMMV. The heat activated rubber grip....should be right from the factory. Makes the gun feel so much more comfortable and substantial. No slip or slide when wearing gloves. I also got the MCarbo reloading tool for the magazine. Here is the truth about it....it does work. It works well....but there is another one out there that is actually better. I can recommend the MCarbo one if you don't want to spend a whole lot for a reloading tool. The other one, which I will not name, is made in Israel. It just works a bit better. I will post my review on the aluminum slide stop at that product. I will say that it is awesome. If you have a PMR-30, you really should consider getting the all in one bundle. It will make your gun more reliable and just a whole lot of fun.
The kit was well planned and the video's really helped with the install. Kit was great but, the PMR30 weapon was very touchy when putting it back together. If you tightened just one screw too much the gun would not run. NOT M*Carbo's fault. Stick to the torque specs and you will be fine. I do recommend this upgrade for the PMR30
Honesty, I was considering selling the pistol before finding this kit. It’s expensive, but it makes the gun run like a champion. The feed ramp and mag release especially. The enhanced trigger makes an already good one great.
So my PMR got thrown into the bottom of my gun safe because very 5th shot would jam. Forgot about it for a long time...wanted to love it, but it wasn't faithful to me. Friend told me about the kit. Marriage made in heaven now. 30 rounds without a hitch, no matter how many rounds I put through it. Thanks M-Carbo!
The all-in-one M*Carbo upgrade for the Keltev PMR-30 is a worthy upgrade. I have 300 rounds; just 10 magazines through my PMR after this upgrade. Everything works flawlessly and no problems of any kind. I appreciate the trigger upgrade the most with respect to adjustable pre-travel and over-travel. The frame stiffener/filler piece is also really beneficial to how the gun feels. I haven't used the speed loader yet as I just load by hand using a technique I found on youtube. The magazine release is great but I also did'nt notice any problems with the stock release. The feed ramp is a great piece of mind. Knowing the gun will stay consistent and not suffer premature wear or ftf's after a break in period is great. I had read; but not experienced, the wear of the stock plastic feed ramp being an issue. I polished my M*Carbo ramp with a cotton wheel on a dremel and some polishing rouge. Took 5 minutes. I am happy with the M*Carbo upgrade kit for my PMR. I consider it a good value to get all the upgrades. Glad I did it.
This kit made the gun reliable. If you have a PMR-30 you need this kit. Too bad this Keltek isn't dependable from the factory, but thankfully the good people of M-Carbo have got you covered.
