The replacement of the 2 springs were very easy to do! Make sure you have all the necessary tools to do so! If not, all else will fail! My 38 shot phenomenally well at the range! Thanks BrotherHood!

I only installed two springs from this kit and it made a big difference. I don’t have a trigger pull gauge but it is definitely better. I did the install myself and it was quick and easy.

Watched the video, installed the springs. very easy with good results. This was not my first choice to carry. The trigger pull was hard enough to affect accuracy. With the new springs it is much better.

A Must For Any CCW J-Frame

Kit was as advertised on the video great trigger pull in D/A if you invest a little more time and do some internal polishing it actually comes out better that the S & W Performance Center J-Frame Guns, bear in mind if you reload use Federal or Winchester Primers, CCI's are hard Primers and will not be reliable, but well worth it.

A nice convenient improvement over stock

I received my spring kit promptly and free from hassle of any kind.

After watching the associated instruction video I had a good idea of what was required to do the installation, and although my model was much older that that in the video, it was still quite simple to complete the installation. Once installed, I found the action, although not 'soft', was much more manageable, especially in double-action. I am very pleased at thins point. ~ Thank You!

All is well

Further to my earlier review

I talked to the guys in the shop and things got better. I found out what the problem was, they helped me correct it, and now the trigger pull is what it should be. Thanks to Dave and the crew!

Awesome

The stock trigger was EXTREMELY stiff and made the gun not very easy to shoot. This spring kit took about 10 mins to install and reduced the trigger pull of my 642 to about 6lbs average. HUGE improvement. Excellent product.

Awesome kit !!!

This spring kit did as it’s supposed to, I am more than happy with the result. The Youtube video instruction was right on point. I would suggest this kit for anyone with a J-frame S & W. Thank you so much.

Awesome product! I highly recommend

This is a great upgrade. I bought a used 642 for $170 bucks! Couldn’t beat it. I got a new pistol grip and got this spring kit so my wife could shoot it. It was a simple gift for her.

The original pull was about 11.5 lbs and installing this kit brought the pull to just over 8 lbs. About a 30% reduction, maybe a hair more on some pulls. It’s a very crisp and clean trigger pull now.

The video on this page is spot on. My wife and I just watched the video, paused at intervals and did the work together. Great job on the video.

I’ll be back for more from MCARBO as the need/want arises.

A bonus: They mean it when they said they fulfill orders quick. And the actual shipping was only a couple of days thanks to the service provider.

The spring kit was easy to install using the video as a guide. My Model 637 has a part which is not shown in the video. It's a firing pin block which is pulled down and out of the way as the hammer is pulled back.

It makes no difference to the installation, but I thought I'd give a heads-up to those who see it in their guns but not in the video.

Firing the gun went from "practically impossible" to "not bad at all." Definitely worth the money and the installation time.

Big help for a 442 Airweight

Big improvement over factory setup especially when limited to DAO there isn't a lot you can do to improve upon it that is as easy as this spring kit. Simple way to lighten up the trigger and improve response time to threats such as snakes on my property. Including any two legged kind.

MCarbo has sent me a few notices inviting me to write a review. As of now I do not have a success story to write about but let me explain. I had a S&W 642 a while back and I installed a spring kit (not MCarbo) that did bring the 12 lb. trigger pull down to 9 lbs. I sold that gun and purchased a S&W Performance Center 642 with enhanced action work. It was received with a 12 lb. trigger pull which is not what I like.

So, I purchased the Wilson Combat trigger spring kit and installed it and the pull weight did not budge (with all springs being tested). I then purchased this trigger spring kit and installed it and there was, on average, a 2-3 oz. improvement. Not very good.

I currently have an email in to MCarbo to help me figure out what the problem is. Is there something special about the S&W PC 642 EA or what? Hopefully we can find the solution. I will also call if need be and I can contact Smith-Wesson as well - although I really do not want to do that because it probably goes against their warranty.

Anyway - I currently do not think the problem is with MCarbo's product now Wilson Combat's but I do want a fix. Also, cannot give a rating until I know where the problem is.
