My teenage daughter and I participate in Project Appleseed. I bought her a Marlin 795 LTR (Liberty Training Rifle) to help her qualify as a rifleman. I was surfing the web trying to learn all I could about this rifle. Many sites I visited praised the Mcarbo trigger kit. I decided to purchase the trigger spring kit and have it professionally installed by MCARBO. I was amazed by the turnaround time on this installation. I mailed the trigger assembly on Tuesday and got it back on Saturday. The performance of the rifle is improved with this trigger kit. The groups that this rifle now shoots are 15% tighter then before.
I watched the video a couple times and then went step by step to install the spring kit. Pausing the video at each step, the task was not at all difficult - even if you can't think in three dimensions, having a visual go-by made it an rather easy task. The result was indeed a lighter, smooth trigger. So I ordered the upgrade trigger too.... should have gotten the whole package the first time.
I ordered the spring kit for my Marlin 795 and wow what a difference. The kit was easy to install and customer service was incredible. Before my order arrived I received an email from Chris of MCarbo with links to installation videos which were very helpful. No problems with shipping to Canada either! Thanks Chris.
After about 3500 rds., my Marlin 795 began having light primer strikes. Half the rds. fired would require a second firing pin strike to ignite, so I purchased this kit and problem solved. Mcarbo's instructional installation video is most helpful. This is the second product I have purchased from Mcarbo and both are functional yet inexpensive fixes for firearms. I highly recommend them. Thank u Mcarbo!
Thanks, it helps me shoot tighter groups with my 795. A pleasure to shoot. No more checking to see if the safety is on because of the 6 1/2 - 7lb trigger pull. (how ridiculous is a 7lb trigger pull for a gun that only weighs 4 1/2lbs?) It now pulls at 4 lbs. Your spring kit and the DIP trigger kit makes the gun perform like Marlin should have produced it to begin with.
Bought this kit because I was overzealously cleaning my gun and took a brush to the action, knocking the disconnector spring out of place. Learned I gotta take the whole damn action apart to get to it, so may as well add the spring kit, it's cheap enough. #1 working in this action is like repairing watches, so many little parts. I lost one of those E clip retainers in the process. 6 pack of them is $3, if I knew it was a risk I would have added them to my cart when I bought the spring kit. The kit noticably reduced the trigger pull, but in exchange I really notice the trigger slop. Idk if the kit adds slop, I no longer remember the factory trigger pull. Also I am noticing the trigger assembly making a little noise. Don't remember if that's new or not.
Possessing just average mechanical aptitude I was a bit hesitant to undertake modifications of this sort, but after watching the excellent video several times over I have just installed a trigger spring kit on my Marlin 795. The speaker in the video is right -- on reassembly you will know when the detent is properly set. That detent was the only spot of difficulty in the entire process, but nothing that a little patience did not overcome. End result: trigger pull went from 5 pounds to 3.25 Additional result: I am quite happy with the results and very much expect better scores at the next Appleseed.
Fast service/delivery with outstanding customer follow up. Products perform as advertised and installation is fairly straight forward but some mechanical dexterity is an asset. One thing I would ask of the company? Please fabricate a metal trigger guard/support for the Marlin 795 as the plastic one is not happy with the -30C weather of the Canadian north and can only be epoxied so many times. You build it & I will buy it. Cheers Eh
Both of my 795 Marlins are now grouping super tight. The trigger kit from MCARBO made the micro grooved rifled barrel out perform any Ruger 10/22 at the range. People that shot it could not believe the accuracy and how tight they group. Many guys felt ripped off that where shooting the Ruger 10/22, saying that they payed way to much for their Ruger's, I just chuckled and said my 795 including the trigger and sight upgrades only set me back about 160.00 bucks each. Great Product MCARBO!!!
Hammer spring to stiff. First review stated would not fire after cycling first round fired. I removed new hammer spring and reinstalled old spring. Popped off couple of rounds with no issues. I believe in my rifle a 1980 model 70, all these new springs including a hyper velocity recoil spring was too much tension to cycle properly say to stiff. Works fine now, trigger is improved.
I've only had my 795 about a year, but have shot 3k-4K rounds through it. It didn't have a horrible trigger pull, but if I can get an edge on my firearms, I will. This did just that. With the DIP trigger guard and trigger and MCARBO spring kit, I have my pull just under 4 lbs. it made a huge difference. Would recommend to anyone wanting to make their Marlin, a little better.
The weak spot on the Marlin 795/Papoose is the disconnector spring. I've had to mend one in the field and it's tricky to do. So having a spare makes a lot of sense. Look for MCARBO videos which will make this a lot easier job.
Got this spring kit a few months ago and finally got around to installing it. I installed it in a model 70. The installation was straightforward and simple. The trigger in this rifle was horrible I could basically Pull It Off the Bench with my finger without it even firing (8.6lb trigger pull). With the installation of this kit it brought the trigger down to exactly 3 lb I was hoping for maybe 4lb. But when I got 3lb consistently I was extremely happy. If you're looking to dry fire your rifle a lot I used Hillman ribbed plastic anchors, they will load from a magazine and also extract and eject. They come in a box of 100 the number is H# 370326. I am extremely satisfied with this spring kit and would recommend it to anybody. Definitely a great AMERICAN company to do business with, lots of follow-up emails and American Pride.
I reviewed the Marlin 7000 at a SHOT Show and went home and purchased one. It is a wonderful little gun and I am surprised it was discontinued. The only draw back was the horrible trigger. After a very long wait now there is a solution. After installation of the MCARBO TRIGGER SPRING KIT and replacing the trigger I now have a complete gun. THANK YOU GREAT PRODUCT
Great, fast service. After watching the installation video twice, the install was a breeze.
Added this spring kit to my Marlin 795 and I love it. Much lighter and smoother trigger pull which improved my accuracy. I recomend this product
