S&W Sigma SW9VE & SW40VE Trigger Spring Kit The major complaint with the Smith and Wesson SW9VE / SW40VE is that is has a very heavy 9-10lb factory trigger pull. This leaves a lot of us looking for affordable SW40VE Accessories to make further...

$13 gave new life to old "drawer pistol"

I found this kit referenced in a blog after finding an old SW9VE buried in a drawer. Relegated to that drawer, unwanted and unloved, for probably 10yrs or so after firing it only a few times. After I found this old pistol, I wondered if there were any way to improve it and MAYBE want to use it again. I received the kit (extremely fast delivery time btw), I watched the videos on YouTube twice, and went after it. I really thought I would likely have to refer back to the video, but nope - super easy after watching the videos. Who would've thought that $13 would make such a HUGE difference?

MCarbo, only thing more I'd like to see is aftermarket stainless steel recoil guide rod/spring for this and Glocks (or all platforms)!

Thanks for being bad ass and making this tool useful again!

10lb factory pull

This pistol is just ridiculous from the factory. I had 10lb before the spring install. After installing the mcarbo spring and polishing internals it dropped to 8lbs. I however was not happy with the trigger pull but my coworker loved it. Waiting to retest trigger pull after 200 rounds to get final weight reduction measurement.

This really bought this gun back to a decent functioning pistol. It greatly reduced the trigger pull. I have not yet put it on a scale but would say it cut it in half. Best company I have dealt with as far as customer service and quick shipping!

Assembly tool was bad

my assembly tool was nothing like the one in the video. it was too long to fit in the plastic housing so I had to sand it and it was too loose stay fit in the wholes of the plastic housing so it kept slipping out and the spring kept falling out. Ended up losing both of them after 30 minutes of it falling out.

Assembly tool was worthless

Everything went well until I had to use the assembly tool. It was too long to fit into the sear assembly making reassembly 100x more difficult.

Awesome

Ordered the wrong spring kit and when I reached out to Mcarbo they immediately worked with me to get my spring kit exchange to the correct one. Great company will definitely buy from again.

- as far as the spring kit goes, it definitely improved my trigger and made it much more enjoyable to shoot! Plus installation video on Youtube was super helpful, worth it for the price.

Awesome results! Must have!

Awesome Upgrade

If you have a sw9 or sw40 get this kit. The difference in trigger pull is night and day between stock and this spring kit. This literally cut the trigger pull in half and the reset and travel is so much better too. You can’t go wrong for $15 upgrade and relatively easy install once you watch recommended video, and your supporting our veteran brothers which is great too.

Big difference!

The factory trigger pull was brutal, this kit made it the way it should have been in the first place. Tremendous improvement in feel. Took me a bit to get it installed, my vision is not the best up close. The instructions were phenomenal and the spring is relatively easy to install.

Would highly recommend.

Definitely helps.

Today was my first trip to the range with the SW9VE after installing the M*CARBO outer sear spring. Had to wrestle with the installation a bit (hey, that little pigtail spring is a booger...) but Chris's video was very helpful.

The replacement spring made a _big_ improvement in the feel of the trigger. No question about it.

Dowel included too long and too skinny.

5 stars on the spring, but the dowel included (some kind of skinny polymer/epoxy like rod) was too long to allow reinsertion of metal spring mechanism back into the plastic housing. After fiddling with the included dowel off an on for about 3hrs, I ditched it for a round toothpick cut to proper length which fit right into the hole for the (final) metal pin through the torsion spring. This allowed insertion of the metal pin, for the torsion spring, to proceed with relative ease and took less than 2 minutes. After that, everything worked fine. Very pleased with the lighter trigger pull now. PS: A very small piece of 3mil laminating plastic, slipped into the side of the plastic housing, will keep the extended pin (connected eventially to the trigger mechanism) from falling out while you are trying to position and re-insert the pin for the torsion spring. It will eliminate the need to have to reinsert that 2nd pin in the oblong hole on the piece with the indentation for the spring. Once the torsion spring pin is in place, you can easy pull out the small piece of laminating plastic and the 2nd pin (connected to the trigger) will still be in place. Saves a lot of time and trouble and frustration.

Easy to do - and it works!
