Lapping jig and compound cleaned and smoothed muzzle. Gun is better than new. Professional results and did them myself. Saved big bucks over gunsmith and proud of my home smithing results. M-CARBO is the best.
I purchased the MCARBO Muzzle Lapping Kit to use on a very old Ruger Single Six (22 LR/22 WMR). This revolver easily had a couple thousand rounds run through it over a lot of years. The muzzle crown had definitely seen better days. It takes a while and some patience, but the payoff is well worth the investment. Consistent groups are back to being the norm. At first I thought the accuracy issues were due to my shaky late 60's hands, but I was wrong (again)!
Aluminum Oxide is the correct compound, Silicon Carbide will embed in the steel

Lapped the crown on my Ruger SP101 in 327 Fed Mag. The gun was pretty rough cut from the factory & now looks much better. This product worked exactly as advertised.
Polished out 2 Marlin Model 60 muzzles and a Ruger 10/22. Works as described with little hassle.
