Review
The installation video was very helpful - had a hard time getting the trigger pin to release but everything else went fine - trigger pull was reduced to a little under 4#'s so it was right where you said it should be - very happy with the whole process - definitely would recommend buying this kit & watching the install video...
A year or two ago I got a trigger spring kit for my Hellcat. Very satisfying experience and result. So I decided to upgrade my VP9. I am familiar with German engineering and tolerances from times past: they can be difficult. Also I suffered a stroke 5 years ago rendering my left hand less than productive. Nevertheless, I decided to try the trigger kit. Shying away from such things isn't in my makeup. Although some pins very tight, I soon had the gun apart. The safety spring was truly problematic. This of course isn't M*Carbo's fault. My safety latch just wouldn't catch and hold that little spring! So, being very careful, I used my Dremel to put a small groove in the dimple that holds the spring. That worked well. The rest of the parts reinstalled pretty easily. Although I haven't fired the HK yet, the trigger pull is much lighter than before. The video was a lifesaver for me and enabled a successful reassembly despite my handicapped left arm. Great job on the video!
This was one of the more challenging trigger-improvement jobs I've done so far. The how-to video from Mcarbo is absolutely first rate - the clear instructions, the proper lighting and video angles, along with the discussion of how to overcome the difficult steps all but guarantee success.
I am a new owner of a VP9 and while I always liked the way it felt and ran, after the first 300 or so rounds I really felt if I could reduce the trigger pull weight and make the trigger break cleaner I could improve my groups. After running across this product and reading reviews compared to the reviews of HKParts spring kit I came back here to order. Boy was this a great decision! My trigger weight dropped from roughly 5.75 lbs down to 4.25! Not only lighter, but ALL of the creep and stacking that I was experiencing before (the part that was throwing my shots!) was gone! Very, very clean and crisp, much lighter break, but not so light that the pistol feels unsafe at all. This is the way the pistol should have shipped from H&K! It feels very good ... best breaking striker fired pistol I've ever shot, thanks to M*Carbo!
Absolutely worth every penny! I upgraded my trigger and bought this spring kit in conjunction and installed them together. It’s a huge improvement over the factory pull and weight. Not to mention the top notch customer service that you receive from the M*Carbo staff. Veteran owned and treat you like family! I am now a customer for life! Thank you!
As always, super fast shipping and another very well done video. This was the first time I broke this pistol down (thanks to the confidence from the video) and the pins were harder to punch out than I expected, but with a little finesse they came out. I also bought the trigger return spring pliers from H&K (around $15) and they made installing the TRS super easy. Re-assembly was very straight forward thanks to the video. Great job Team M.Carbo!
This product worked as described in my SFP9L (Canuckistan version of the VP9L) taking the trigger pull from 5.2lbs down to 3.8lbs (average of 10 tests pre/post installation). This might not seem like much but it is noticeable - love it. The install video was great - I first watched it completely through to understand what I got myself into then watched/paused as I did the installation. All the important info was reported including when things might get hard or missed. For me, it was the removal of the trigger stop pin (the one that you "push" out from the inside of the locking block. After disassembly, everything went back together like butter as I followed the video with no issues. I'm glad I was able to purchase this through the Calgary Shooting Centre - I just need them to restock so I can get another for my regular SFP9 (VP9). Thanks for a great product - can't wait to get it to the range before the Canadian government takes away all our firearms. Keep up the great work.
I bought this to tweak my trigger and must say I immensely satisfied! Not only did I receive the product in a very timely matter but I was emailed an installation video that was very easy to follow. MCARBO will definitely be the first place I check for parts in the future.
Unbelievable difference in trigger feel and break! Coupled with the Lazy Wolf Flat trigger I went from liking my VP9 to LOVING it! The install video and the in-depth coverage done By M-Carbo made it a fairly easy project to tackle myself as well. Couldn't be happier!
Hello! Thanks for the great video. But why don't you deliver to Germany? I would like to buy the trigger spring kit for my HK SFP9 (HK VP9)!!! Thanks and best regards from Germany. USA is great ! I like Donald Trump !!
Definitely an unexpensive great upgrade. Pull from 5lbs 4ozs down to 3lbs 8ozs.
my HKVP9 had a consistent trigger pull of 6 pounds. it has approx. 2000 rounds through it. nice trigger but i wanted to make it better. this kit was so low priced and it seemed like a good idea. well after installation i now have a pull of 4 pounds. loving it !!!! kudos to MCarbo !!!!
Makes a world of difference in trigger performance and feel. It is a little involved, though. Follow the videos exactly, and it's definitely doable. May not be the best option if you aren't very mechanically inclined. Probably best to practice on something a little less complex first. The videos will provide the confidence you need. Just watch them multiple times before you start, and then pause and rewind as you accomplish each step.
These are excellent upgrade parts for a VP9 - the video describing how to install was awesome too. Made it almost easy to do. I had a solid 2lb trigger pull drop. Fast shipping. Excellent all the way around!!!
VP9 has challenging fire control group to disassemble and reassemble for many people. However, the installation video was superbly nice and easy to follow. Just get the correct punches and tools, and it is an easy job. Trigger pull dropped to 3.5-3.75 lbs Photos and videos: https://photos.app.goo.gl/u5sNLLCvZ8p97FXf9
I have a VP9 that I put the factory spring set in to reduce trigger pull. It worked great for a while and then it did not reset consistently. I have used M CARBO spring kits in other guns with great results so I ordered one for this one. Now the gun has a positive reset, with no noticeable increase in pull.
