Review
Good quality
Is it to stout I wondered? 22lb recoil spring I thought ? I Went to the range with my CZ SP-01 tactical and Mcarbo new guide rod and their 22lb spring. I took my stock plastic guide rod & 18lb flat wire spring and I planned that I would have to put it back in since I was shooting store bought 115,124, & 147gr ammo . But Mcarbo new S.S. Guide rod and 22lb spring cycled 300 different rounds with out a hiccup & just about no recoil alone with their trigger spring kit I had already installed. The gun cycled the casing About 5 ft. Now waiting on the compact spring. Good job once again .
This is by far the best upgrade you can do for your SP 01. Guide rode is a 2nd.
The Extra Power Recoil Spring is definitely a noticeable upgrade. Due to its spring weight rate, it’s slightly more difficult to rack the slide when compared to the factory recoil spring. However, when combined with the upgraded guide rod... the accuracy is really good. A must buy
This will replace what in my opinion will be the first part that will critically fail on my SP01. Match this with the SS guide rod and shoot +P+ ammo more peace of mind. Installation was a breeze.
Installed this spring and it has helped. Do not hesitate to do this upgrade.
bought both the guide rod and stronger recoil spring. the slide feels slightly heavier when cocking it, definitely a stronger sping and I can't wait to try it out on the range to compare the recoil.
works well with a suppressor
I got this one with the steel guide rod for my sp01 because I herd that you can’t use the factory flat spring with it but once I got it I found out that with a little pressure the factory spring will also work. I did install the Mcarbo spring and it felt pretty strong and you can definitely tell the difference between the factory one and the Mcarbo one. I will be posting performance latter on when I go to the range but for now feels pretty good. Can’t wait to try it out.
Does what it’s supposed to do with +P loads, helps w recoil management and wear and tear on the pistol frame. Easy to install, and great first aftermarket upgrade over factory recoil spring.
Not an easy job, but it can be done with some pacience and time. Got this video to help me https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xlqkpeCI024, as the one on MCarbo has a different gun spec. Well, the single action trigger became much better in its course, much more smoopher, and an original measure of 3.5lbs I reached 2.5lbs with the kit. I really think that worth the job. Thanks guys for such an amazing product
Bought me this spring to add to my new stainless guide rod to replace my plastic one in my SP 01 and it's amazing. They work perfect together. These guys know thier stuff.
I bought this along with the stainless steel guide rod for my CZ SP01. Installation was easy and it feels great. I can't wait to take my CZ to the range and test it out. I'm very happy with the products that Mcarbo sells. Their customer service is excellent and they ship your order out super fast. Will be ordering again from them.
spring seem a tad bit longer that stock. you can feel the extra tension while racking the slide compared to stock spring. i can hear a little bouncing/creeping sound inside the slide when racking while i never noticed on the stock spring. hope it disapates once it goes to use. I installed it with the stainless steel guide rod as well. will see how to goes once i go to the range to test. overall great product
Buyer beware. This spring and the guide rod that goes with it is nearly impossible to install. It is way to stiff, especially with slippery fingers during a take down and cleaning. And you certainly won't appreciate the legalese type of response from customer service when you return it for credit.
It didn't work on my CZ 75 SP-01 The spring made the slide very heavy .It's too long and I contacted the customer support but they didn't even answer my email , very disappointed with my purchase
